Autumn Koi
This vibrant painting would add a magnificent burst of colour in any room. It was inspired by the changing of the seasons and celebrates the colours of autumn.
Koi fish are often used to represent a variety of themes but I wanted to draw on and explore their association with change. Combined with Japanese maple (momiji), which represent the coming of autumn, the whole piece celebrates the colours of the changing seasons in a positive and joyful manner.
This piece was made with Japanese sumi ink and fluid acrylics on watercolour paper and is presented in a beautiful antique oak frame. The piece is also framed with high-quality acrylic glass that filters out 99% of UV light, protecting it and further preserving its colours.
The framed piece measures 109x35cm
